Who came up with "widgets?"?
Yahoo widgets was originally a product named Konfabulator which worked on both PC and Mac. It was developed to allow people to easily write small, but useful utilities that tie into a uniform framework.
There have been several products allowing for widgets development, but I believe the Mac OS saw some of the first "widgets" as desk accessories.
Reply:If you mean the word, I don't know. If you mean in terms of a GUI (e.g. buttons, listboxes, etc.), then Xerox did in 1972, cause they made the first GUI, complete with a mouse.
