I usually download .exe programs onto a flash drive using a public computer, then run the .exe to install the program on my personal computer, which has no internet connection. In the case of Yahoo! Widgets this doesn't seem be willing to work with out a direct internet connection. Is there anything I can do?
How can I download Yahoo! Widgets with out a direct internet connection?
1) First you go to softpedia.com, and you find the full downloadable version on that site.
2) This file will be downloaded in .rar format (kind of like a zip file), and you will need a .rar conversion software before you can open it. To do this, while you are still on the internet connected computer, try to open the file. It will tell you that it does not know what program to open the file with, and then give you the option to either select a program or find one on the internet.
3) Select the option to find the appropriate program on the internet. Find what ever one you can get free, and download it on to your storage device the same way you did the origional .rar file.
4) You may then take the storage device to your non-internet connected computer and first download the rar conversion program, then the yahoo!widgets program. Keep in mind that it will take a long time.
