Can I delete individual widgets from my computer?

I downloaded some widgets and I ended up not liking them. Can I permanently delete them?

Can I delete individual widgets from my computer?
If you're talking about OS X Dashboard widgets, then yes. First click on the dashboard icon in the dock. There'll be a (+) in the Lower Left corner of your screen. If you click on it, all of your widgets will get a black and white X on their upper left corners. click that to close the widgets you don't want.

To permanently delete them, navigate to /Library/Widgets. Find the widget or widgets that you want to delete, and drag it to the trash (you'll probably have to type in the Administrator's User name and Password. This is probably yours.)
Reply:You'll get a better answer if you specify more information.

For example, what operating system do you have and what version is it, e.g. Windows XP Professional (SP2) or Linux Red Hat 9.1.

What do you mean by a "widget"? I'm not sure if you're talking about an icon or a program or a text file.

Did you install these "widgets" or just download them? Do you understand the difference?
