How can I make Yahoo Widgets work with Mozilla Firefox?

I downloaded Yahoo Widgets and I want to use it with Mozilla. What am I supposed to write in the Preferences - Advanced - Proxy Settings - Use specific Proxy area?

How can I make Yahoo Widgets work with Mozilla Firefox?
You can use either of the options - that is, if you installed Internet Explorer.

If you don't have to use a compulsory proxy, then choose "Direct connection".

If widgets still don't open with Mozilla, but use IE instead, there could be any of the follwing reasons:

1. Mozilla is not working as your standard browser. Make sure that you checked the option to check upon startup that Firefox is the standard browser is marked (- go to "Extras %26gt; Preferences %26gt; General". The checkbox is the last on this tab).

2. When using Windows XP make sure that Windows is notified to use your preferred browser. (Go to "Start %26gt; Programs and Standards".). Check whether "User-Defined" is you scheme and that either "Use my standard browser" or "Mozilla Firefox" is checked. When in doubt, specifically choose "Mozilla Firefox".

After that, widgets should use Mozilla as your browser whenever they access the web.

(Footnote: I use a German-language copy of Windows and Firefox, so pathway names and terms might be slightly wrong, but you should still get to the right places...)

Axel
